Garden photo update

Just another quick photo update on the garden

This one shows the newly installed garden arch complete with seat. Some climbing roses have been planted at the base, so hopefully soon it will be covered in blooms!

Here is a shot of a double yolker getting fried up and in the shell

Our first ever raspberry!!! In the middle of winter....

Some of the citrus in its early stages of development

View along the fence, we now have cherry (Stella), apple (Granny Smith and Pink Lady), apricot, peach and nectarine! We have been icing the cherry to increase the chill factor, just in case!

Our first asparagus shoot!!!

Latest pumpkin harvest....

The "mini orchard"

We have finally moved the citrus trees from their pots into the ground out the front of the house. A mini orchard, they are all citrus, we will get some deciduous fruit trees this winter to espalier along the green fence you can see in the picture.

They have been planted close together, as per Jackie French's "Backyard Self-sufficiency" which recommends planting at less than two metres to maximise space. So far so good and they seem to be thriving a few weeks on.

A path will be installed next to the "orchard" to enable direct access (without a bend) from the front door to the road, as we walk alot, and the bend is good for getting to the car, but a bit annoying if walking.

Garden harvest update

Here are some of the latest harvests from the garden....

First up a picture of one of our sunflowers while it was still looking glorious!

Here are some of the corn cobs - so sweet and tasty....

A rather round zucchini, but taste all the same...

A couple of heirloom pumpkins, pretty but there was only one more other than these, so a little bit disappointing, hopefully this year will be better.

Heirloom carrots and onions...

More to come soon....
